This Privacy Policy (hereinafter ‘the Policy’) shall govern the collection, use, storage, disclosure, and processing of your personal data as collected/submitted by/to Chamber of Trade & Industry (CTI) and/or its subsidiary(ies) and/or affiliate(s) (collectively referred to as ‘CTI’) through this website (regardless of where you visit it from) or through such other mode as permitted by CTI.

INTRODUCTION

The Chamber of Trade & Industry (CTI) attaches immense value and commitment towards due protection of the personal data of its members and of those who are/shall be associated with it through various channels and modes including but not limited to participation in various events/programs/seminars organized by CTI. CTI complies with all applicable laws and regulations which mandate the protection and privacy of your personal data. CTI has implemented technical and organizational security measures to guarantee the security of your personal data.

Please read the Policy thoroughly in order to understand how we process your personal data. It is important that you read this Policy together with any other privacy policy or fair processing policy that CTI may provide on specific occasions during the collection or processing of your personal data. This Policy is in addition to any other notices and/or privacy policies published by CTI before and is not intended to override them.

PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED BY CTI

In order to provide its services to you in the best possible manner and at times, when necessary, CTI may collect your personal data, when you choose to avail of CTI’s services including but not limited to, participating in/being a part of any event hosted/organized by CTI. This enables CTI to facilitate seamless availing of its services including but not limited to when you seek to participate in/be a part of any event hosted/organized by CTI.

CTI may ask you for further information from time to time in order to cater to your needs and provide efficient services. The information that you provide will not be shared with any third party, without your prior explicit consent, unless permitted by law or as per this Policy.

CTI may collect and process information relevant to the above reasons and/or purposes. This information may include personal data such as:

contact details and preferences

payment details

photographic ID

membership details

financial details

education and employment details.

Personal data so collected may also include names, contact details, CTI membership ID numbers, nationality, date of birth, credit/debit card payments related financial details etc. which are necessary for CTI to process the necessary services.

When visiting this and its other affiliate website(s), CTI may collect information about the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of the device used to access the website(s), browsing actions and patterns, which help it monitor the level of activity and provide efficient services.

Where CTI is required to collect your personal data under any applicable law/regulation, or under the terms of a contract it has with you/is being entered into, and you fail to provide the data when requested, CTI may not be able to perform the said contract and may have to cancel a registration or service you have with it.

HOW DOES CTI COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

CTI may collect the aforementioned types of your personal data through its website when you fill up any form for availment of any service offered by CTI including but not limited to, when you seek to participate in/be a part of any event hosted/organized by CTI.

CTI may also collect certain technical data such as browsing actions and patterns through automated technologies or interactions.

WHERE WILL CTI STORE YOUR DATA?

CTI stores the personal data so collected from you, at its storage servers located in India. The information is stored on secure networks and access is restricted to those employees and partners who are entitled to access our systems.

HOW WILL CTI USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

CTI shall only use your personal data in a manner, which is permissible under law. Most commonly, it will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

Where it needs to perform the contract, it is about to enter into or have entered into with you.

Where it is necessary for its legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

Where its needs to comply with a legal obligation.

PURPOSE

Your personal data will be used only for the purposes for which it is collected, unless CTI reasonably considers that it needs to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If CTI needs to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, it will notify you and will explain the legal basis which allows it to do so.

Please note that CTI may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

CTI may share your personal data with a third party if the same is required to provide you services and/or enable your smooth participation in any event/program hosted/organized by CTI. During such a process, CTI shall ensure that all third parties respect the security of your personal data and treat it in accordance with the law. CTI does not allow third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permits them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with CTI’s instructions.

CTI shall get your express opt-in consent before it shares your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. You may ask CTI or third parties to stop sending you marketing messages and opt out.

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

CTI gives utmost importance to security of your personal data. CTI has put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in any unauthorized manner, altered, modified or disclosed. In addition, CTI also restricts access to your personal data to only those employees, agents, contractors and/or other third parties who have a need-to-know for service purposes. The said employees, agents, contractors and/or other third parties will only process your personal data on explicit instructions of CTI, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

CTI has also put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where it is legally required to do so. However, in case of any computer or hack attacks on the site, CTI cannot be held liable for loss, theft or corruption of data maintained on the website.

RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

CTI shall only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes it has collected it for, including but not limited to, for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements.
